Paseos, boundless paths within the artistic journey of this site. An exploration of culture, community, and creativity. The experience of a redeveloped transit oriented, public space created to bring cohesiveness between the two existing neighborhoods;Wynwood and Edgewater in Miami. The simple Latin American tribute adds flair and pays respect to the extant population. The multi-purpose communal partnership is a consolidation between art and its people.
The proposal serves to connect six city blocks that is split by a railway system between the two neighborhoods. The local area is known the art and hispanic culture, so the design of the site enhanced and celebrates the artists and its residents. The idea was to preserve the existing murals throughout the neighborhood in order to leave part of its old roots intact.
The Private partnership, Midedgewyn Group, engaged Paseos Master Developer to create a vision to capture the opportunity within the site. Paseos was born as a result. Due to the strong economic conditions, the Partnership and the Master Developer concluded the site can support a thriving, mixed-use, transit-oriented neighborhood, which can be delivered and absorbed within a ten-year period starting in 2030.
